For Derrick Morgan, former Tennessee Titans linebacker and founding partner of KNGDM Group, community roots are incredibly important. That’s why after retiring from his career in the NFL and beginning an impact-focused fund, he returned to his hometown to put his ideas for positive community development in motion.

Following legislation that provided tax breaks for certain development projects in what were deemed “opportunity zones,” (Morgan’s hometown of Coatesville, PA, included), Morgan and KNGDM Group sought to be an example of giving back and building resilient communities. Last year, KNGDM invested in a section of Coatesville known as “the Flats,” a vacated 25-acre space that Morgan hopes to turn into a space that promotes community, tourism, and the manifestation of the opportunity in “opportunity zones.”

You can learn more about Morgan’s and KNGDM Group’s story in Coatesville in this CBS Special from Thanksgiving, 2019.
